IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph
IWC recently unveiled its third “collector’s forum” watch. It is a great looking watch, definitely my favorite of the 3 such collectors forum watches that have been launched since 2005 (see Did You Know?below for more on this). IWC Forum Moderator Michael Friedberg put solid list of “why to buy” this particular piece which I’ve reprinted below (and added some of my own comments in italics).
1. It reflects the best of IWC DNA [yes, the IWC Pilot's Watch is one of the brand's most iconic designs]
2. It is made for, and represents, this forum
3. It is uniquely antimagnetic, with a soft-iron cage
4. It uniquely has a single-date window [much better than a tri-date window!]
5. It is a true “tool” watch
6. It is individually numbered [ah! at least some IWC pieces these days get individual numbering. Perhaps this bodes well for future LE's from IWC? I hope.]
7. You can have your name engraved (extra charge)
8. It is a limited edition
9. It has IWC’s in-house chrono movement [the IWC Calibre 89365 is housed in a 43mm steel case]
10. It is a classic design yet contemporary
